11 Tips on Renting a Property
- Always view the property because what you see is usually what you
get.
- Always look at clean places, you don't want to be cleaning up someone
else's mess.
- Ensure that a residential agreement is drawn up between you the tenant
and the landlord/agent.
- Ensure you get a copy of the signed agreement and the ingoing inspection
report.
- Check your ingoing inspection report thoroughly and add details that
are not noted on the report, and return a copy to your Landlord/Agent
within seven (7) days to your inspection.
- Always communicate with your property manager, they are working for
you.
- Make sure that a receipt is issued everytime you pay rent.
- Repairs should be bought to the attention to the landlord/agent as
soon as possible, always put it in writing to your Agent/Landlord.
- When deciding to move out, ensure adequate notice is given and it
must always be in writing.
- Upon vacating, always leave the property clean and undamaged.
- Ask your agent to give you a written rental reference to keep for future renting.
